The culprit was a broken sprague cage. I replaced it with an aftermarket rather than use a Polaris part and risk the same damage again out in the trail.So if you hear a clunking sound when backing up it may be your rear bearings going out. If the u rear u joint has play that might be the cause for the clunking. Or i could also be the cluthes causing the clunking.
